TSP Transition Updates and Activities
Thank you for your continued engagement with the Converge team as the TSP transitions to a new service provider.
This bulletin is intended to share new information and updates regarding transition activities and reinforce critical actions required for your agency/service to be able to send TSP data to the new service provider. Failure to complete preparatory requirements will impact your agency’s/service’s ability to make contributions to the TSP.
Status and Upcoming Activities:
- Virtual Training—Instructor-led training of the new Agency Portal for agency/service payroll representatives is underway and will continue through May of this year. Credentialed agency/service representatives must complete Phase One of required training before advancing to Phase Two Hands-On Training. Phase Two Hands-On Training must be completed by May 20th, 2022. Once credentialed, users will gain access to the Converge learning management system to complete training on how to use the new Agency Payroll Portal. Credentialed users enrolled in the learning management system will receive automated email notifications directing them to the required trainings.
- File Testing—The Converge Agency Support Team is working with individual agencies and services to complete a two-step file testing process as part of Phase Two Hands-On Training mentioned above. Individual agencies and services will receive a communication with specified dates and times of their testing/training session.
- Address Changes—For your awareness, as a result of our ongoing participant engagement efforts, agency/service HR representatives may receive requests from employees with an invalid mailing address to update their TSP address of record. Current federal employees must report their correct address to their agency. We cannot accept address changes directly from plan participants if they are still active employees. Active or Ready Reserve members of the uniformed services can update their address through the myPay website by logging in and going to the TSP section to change their TSP address. Changing the “Correspondence Address” section of myPay will not change their TSP address. Separated participants can update their address by contacting the ThriftLine, or by visiting My Account: Profile Settings.
Participant & Beneficiary Communications—Agency/service representatives will receive a “Communications Toolkit” from their FRTIB training contacts with information regarding changes for TSP participants and beneficiaries. This Communications Toolkit is part of a three-part communications campaign to provide participants and beneficiaries information about upcoming TSP changes. The Communications Toolkit is a packet of digital resources to help partner agency/service representatives effectively communicate TSP changes to their networks of participants and beneficiaries. All Communications Toolkit assets include links to additional information housed on TSP.gov. The Toolkit includes emails and one-pagers for civilian and uniformed services audiences, as well as social media templates for Twitter and Facebook.
Future bulletins will provide more detail about significant payroll process cutover dates and deadlines as well as other changes that may impact your agency/service and employees. The Converge Agency Support Team will coordinate with each Agency Payroll Office prior to the cutover to our new service provider to confirm the dates and times of the June payroll runs and offer direct support.
